The Canton Goodfellows are a group of community volunteers dedicated to providing food, clothing and Christmas gifts to families with young children. 
  In October, Christmas assistance applications are distributed to families through cooperation with the local schools.  Submitted application forms are screened using Federal income guidelines. 
  Donated funds are used to purchase new clothing, toys and food so that we provide Christmas gifts and food for the holidays for the families.
  Many of the children are "adopted" by members of the community who purchase and donate new clothing and toys for these children (see Volunteer Opportunites for details). 
  During a week in the middle of December, the clothing, gifts and food are sorted and prepared for pickup by the families on Saturday.  Gift wrap and tape are provided so the parents can see what gifts we provide for their children before they are wrapped for Christmas.
